The Pain Is In The Drain

Why is it that you can come home some days from work exhausted, feeling like you haven't accomplished a thing, and other days you arrive home energized? It's the same job, with only a few different tasks or activities making the difference. The key is to be vigilant about where your time is spent.

As you move through your day and are engaged in various activities, determine which ones are energizing to you, and which ones drain you. You may not be able to shed the ones that are draining to you, but you might be able to look for ways restructure your day so that you aren't loading up on activities that wear you down. Also look at ways you can spend less time on the task-how can you do it more efficiently?

Limit the drain during the day, and you minimize the pain at the end of the day.
