Imperfection and Procrastination

Waiting for the perfect solution to pop into your head? Stalling progress on a project because the best idea just hasn't come to you yet? If so, chances are that you're not getting much done. It's in messy work of brainstorming, testing and evaluating that the best ideas are normally discovered. We just have to allow ourselves permission to go through this process instead of procrastinating because everything isn't falling into place.

So, if you're stuck on a project or trying to create an award-winning result, give yourself permission to make "imperfect progress" on it. Come up with 2-3 workable solutions, start adding some details and actionable steps to them, and then get feedback from others whose counsel you trust. A perfect solution might just be waiting to be found.

Winners take imperfect action while losers are still perfecting the plan. -Tony Robbins
